Friends Giving

As a photographer, it can sometimes feel isolating to work on your own, always striving to capture the perfect shot and build your business. That's why Jostlyn and I decided to host a romantic styled shoot ( Styled by me) and dinner ( Hosted by Jostyln) every year for photographers in our community called Friends Giving. It's a chance to connect with other creatives, collaborate on a beautiful project, and enjoy a wonderful evening together.

Each year, we start planning months in advance, gathering inspiration, scouting locations, and selecting the perfect team of vendors to help bring our vision to life. I love the process of dreaming up a romantic theme and bringing it to fruition through styling, lighting, and photography.

On the day of the shoot, there's a sense of excitement and anticipation as we all gather together, eager to create something beautiful. The models are dressed in stunning attire, the table is set with gorgeous florals and tableware, and the lighting is just right. As the photographers start taking photos, the magic begins to happen, and we all work together to capture the perfect shot.

Once the shoot is complete, we all sit down to a delicious dinner that Jostyln has been working on so hard on and enjoy the fruits of our labor and savoring the connections we've made. It's a chance to talk about the shoot, share tips and tricks, and build relationships within the community. It's always so rewarding to see how much we've all grown as photographers and to inspire one another to keep pushing the boundaries of our creativity.

Hosting a romantic styled shoot and dinner every year has brought me so much joy and a sense of belonging within my community. It's a chance to connect with other photographers who share my passion and to create something beautiful together. It's a reminder that we're not alone in this creative journey and that we're all in it together, supporting one another every step of the way.
